1. COOKIES AND THEIR CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Cookies
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are sent from the website visited by the user to the user's device
(usually to the browser), where they are stored so that they can recognize that device on the next
visit. On each subsequent visit, in fact, cookies are resent from the user's device back to the site.
Each cookie generally contains: the name of the server from which the cookie was sent; the expiration date and a value,
usually a unique number randomly generated by the computer. The website server that transfers the cookie uses
this number to recognize you when you return to a site or navigate from one page to another.
Cookies can be installed not only by the same operator of the site visited by the user (first
party), but also by a different site that installs cookies through the first site (third-party cookies
third party) and is able to recognize them. This happens because the site visited may have
elements (images, maps, sounds, links to web pages in other domains, etc.) that reside on servers other than the one
of the visited site.
Depending on the purpose, cookies are distinguished into technical cookies and
statistical/profiling cookies.
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an
electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service
information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service" (cf.
Art. 122, para. 1, of the Privacy Code). In particular, such cookies are usually used to enable an
efficient navigation between pages, store user preferences (language, country, etc.), perform
computer authentications, manage shopping carts or allow online purchases, etc.. Some of these
cookies (called essential or strictly necessary) enable functions without which it would not be possible to
to carry out certain operations. Pursuant to the aforementioned Article 122, co. 1, of the Privacy Code, the use of technical cookies
does not require users' consent.
Technical cookies are assimilated to the so-called analytics cookies if they are used directly by the
operator of the site to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site
itself. These cookies allow website owners and/or operators to understand how users interact with the
site content for the purpose of site optimization.
Profiling cookies, on the other hand, are used to track the user's browsing,
analyze his/her behavior for marketing purposes and create profiles on his/her tastes, habits, choices, etc., in order to
transmit targeted advertising messages in relation to the user's own interests and in line with the preferences
manifested by the latter in online browsing. Such cookies may be installed on the user's terminal only
if the latter has given his or her consent in the simplified manner indicated in the Provision.
Based on their duration, cookies are distinguished into persistent, which remain stored,
until they expire, on the user's device, unless removed by the user, and session
session, which are not stored persistently on the user's device and vanish with the
closure of the browser.
What cookies are used by this site?
Analytical cookies are used to understand how visitors interact with the website. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc.

It should be noted in any case that users can manage their preferences on online behavioral advertising
(so-called "online behavioral advertising") through www.youronlinechoices.com/it, which lists the main providers of advertising
behavioral. Through that site, users can disable or enable all companies or alternatively
adjust their preferences individually for each company.
How do you disable/change cookies?
To change preferences already expressed about cookies, there is a special link on the site to the control panel
found in the margin of pages or in the footer (bottom) of the site.
By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, it is possible to
change this default configuration through your browser settings. Disabling/blocking the
cookies or deleting them, however, may preclude the optimal use of some areas of the site, prevent
the use of some services and make browsing slower.
The configuration of cookie management depends on the browser used. Usually, the configuration of cookies
is done from the "Preferences", "Tools" or "Options" menu.
